District Grounds Maintenance – Lead Person
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Possess proven proficiencies in landscape
construction and/or grounds maintenance project oversight. 2. Minimum
of ten years’ experience as a lead person in turf management.
Consideration will be given to those individuals with general
construction, agriculture, horticulture or building maintenance in a
commercial environment. 3. Certified Sports Field Manager (CSFM)
certification preferred. 4. CAT 3 DOT certification preferred or be
able to obtain in the first three months of employment. 5.
Understanding of state and local regulations and codes. 6.
Demonstrated application of construction and repair related practices
and materials required to perform the essential responsibilities of this
position. 7. Demonstrated experience in planning and organizing
projects, building repairs and maintenance. 8. Diplomatic
communication skills both orally and in writing. 9. Proficiency in
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook desired. 10. Strong organizational
skills related to service planning. 11. Must be able to bend, lift up
to 70 lb. on a routine basis, climb, and continuously stand while
working. May be exposed to dust, dirt and chemicals. Work is both
indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to inclement weather and
ultraviolet radiation. Must be physically and medically able to wear
respiratory protection. 12. Such alternatives to the above
qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.

SUPERVISES:
Directs the work of Grounds Maintenance Technician(s)
JOB GOALS:
Plans, organizes, and executes grounds and general maintenance work
required for the repair, maintenance, capital improvement, protection
and preservation of district property and immediate grounds. Assigns
“grounds maintenance group” personnel, establishes work and time
schedules for maintenance projects. Coordinates between the different
disciplines to ensure projects are completed in an efficient manner, on
time and on budget in order to enhance student learning, promote the
overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational
opportunities available to each child.
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain safe work environment 2.
Willingness to embrace change 3. Oversee or perform work in the
assigned workplace required to maintain safety and an atmosphere
conducive to employee learning. 4. Inspect and report potential
projects to prevent premature deterioration of building components,
grounds and equipment. 5. Plan and assign work in cooperation with
in-house departments and approved contractors to plan, coordinate, and
complete approved projects. 6. Assist in the training of new
employees assigned to the dept. 7. Assign and or perform emergency
work and duties of snow removal and grounds care. 8. Perform
emergency work when required after hours. 9. Assist in providing the
necessary safeguards to prevent loss of school property. 10. Use
equipment including but not limited to: a. Vehicles and trailers
b. Hand and power tools of the lawn care trade c. Light duty
excavating and grounds care equipment d. Typical non specialized
construction and repair tools e. Snow removal trucks, tractors and
related equipment f. Metal working equipment g.
Vandalism repair equipment h. Flat work and minor asphalt repair
equipment 11. Other duties as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Contract Days. Salary and calendar year to be established by
the Board of Education. 2. Work hours will be adjusted as needed,
including nights and weekends. Overtime paid for total weekly hours
beyond 40 hours per week.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job
will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District’s policy
on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining
Agreement.

Spray Technician Brown Deer Golf Club - Coralville, IA

This Spray Technician position is under the
supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or the Assistant
Superintendent. The Spray Technician performs chemical and
fertilizer applications on golf course properties including
greens, tees, fairways and roughs. This position is responsible
for reading, understanding and keeping current with labels and
MSDS, and keeping precise application records. Responsibilities
also include, inspecting
course conditions, operating grounds equipment and daily course
set-up.

obtain a CDL driver's license for part time delivery duties when
